Seminar on Youth Activism
Rotaract Club of FC College, in collaboration with Bargad, organized a Seminar on “Youth Activism” on 10 November 2010. Mr Muhammad Tehseen (Director South Asia Partnership Pakistan), Mr Najam Wali Khan (Anchor C42 Program: News Light) and Ms Sabiha Shaheen (Executive Director Bargad) were invited as guest speakers.
Mr Muhammad Tehseen stressed upon the importance of youth activism in Pakistan and its participation in peace building and development of national youth policy. He talked about the role of youth in the Freedom Movement and how today students can make their contribution to the welfare of society.
Mr Najam Wali Khan spoke about the role of student unions in Pakistan and others countries. He also talked about the impact of politics among student groups and organizations on society.
Ms Sabiha Shaheen concluded by informing about the role Bargad was playing to enhance youth activism and creating awareness among students at various educational institutes.
Students expressed their views on this issue and the seminar ended with an informative question answer session.
