18th All Pakistan Forman Bilingual Declamation Contest and Punjabi Nataara

The Formanites Debating Society successfully hosted the 18th All Pakistan Forman Bilingual Declamation Contest and Punjabi Nataara on 2,3 December 2024; a two-day event celebrating eloquence, critical thinking, and cultural pride. Participants from across the nation showcased their rhetorical skills in both English and Punjabi, addressing diverse themes ranging from societal critiques to humorous reflections.

The event commenced with sscripture, followed by the national anthem, fostering unity and a reflective tone. President Sahil Bhatti inaugurated the event, emphasizing the transformative power of debate. The first day included two intense rounds, where topics such as “Lahore’s Air Got No Chill” and “Ham He Kou Shama Jalanay Ka Hosla Na Hua” reflected a mix of humor and gravity. Adjudicators provided insightful critiques, helping participants refine their skills. The day ended with dinner, where Rector Dr. Jonathan Addleton praised the society’s efforts.

Day two highlighted the cultural richness through the Punjabi Nataara, where students delivered passionate speeches on topics like “Pardhaan ji gal mukao.” The final round saw impactful addresses on themes such as “Let’s Not Let Our Failures Define Us,” evaluated by a distinguished panel of adjudicators. The event concluded with an award ceremony, celebrating the University of Punjab as the team trophy winner, and Groove Night, which added vibrance and joy to the gathering. The 18th APFDC reaffirmed the Formanites Debating Society’s legacy as a platform for intellectual growth, cultural preservation, and spirited discourse.
