Register for FORMUN’s Write for Peace – Essay Writing Competition
The Model UN Society – FCC invites all Formanites to participate in the 1st edition of the Write for Peace – Essay Writing Competition, scheduled to be held on 5 May 2015.
The FCC MUN Society has had a rich history of nurturing the creative talents of young people not only from FCC but from all over Pakistan. We strive to disseminate literacy, expression and innovation among young people by honoring brilliance and imagination. This essay writing competition will be no different, as it will be crucial in polishing the analytical skills of future diplomats and leaders. It will also enhance their research capabilities, enabling them to write better Position Papers at Model UN Conferences.

Instructions:
The participants can belong to a variety of academic backgrounds. One topic will be selected (from the list mentioned below) on the spot and the participants will be given a total time of 2 and a half hours to complete their essays. The participants can write as they please but will have to remain within the parameters. The essays will be marked based on creativity, originality and command on the subject.
The topics for writing are as follows:
1. The World needs peace, not a hegemony
2. Rise of the East is a threat to the West
3. The First World is responsible for the misery of the Third World
4. The UN hasnt failed, We have
5. We need Globalization, not Nation-State
6. China as a Superpower, can bring Peace
7. I shall rise
The competition will be judged by Mr Muhammad Adeel who has a Roll of Honor in Essay Writing and Public Speaking from FCC. He has won 7 first positions in various All-Pakistan Essay Writing Competitions and has judged quite a few of them as well.
The winners shall be given cash prizes as follows:
1st Prize: Rs 2000
2nd Prize: Rs 1000
3rd Prize: Rs 500
