FJS arranges a blood donation drive

To welcome the auspicious and blessed spirit of holy Ramadan, the Forman Journalism Society organized a blood drive in collaboration with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) and Mercy Health Centre. The students of Forman Christian College University were more than enthusiastic to participate and donate their blood for this cause. The number of students who showed up was around 196, out of which 101 students donated the blood. The registration desk was responsible for noting down all the information like the names, weight, contact information of the participating students and check if they had taken breakfast or not.
Another desk set up by the staff of Shaukat Khanum Hospital was responsible for recording the Blood Pressure of the students and assessing their past health history. Tests of  Blood Group, CBC, ALT, Total Bilirubin, RPR, Hbs Ag, Anti HCV, Anti HIV I & II, HB Core Antibody and MP ICT were being performed free of cost by the Shaukat Khanum Hospital Staff for the donors. Nucleic Acid Test was being also performed free of cost for the students who decided to be a part of this blood drive.
Forman Journalism Society feels proud in becoming part of such a humanitarian cause. There can be no greater act than helping out cancer patients. The reports about the blood donors would be provided in the next two weeks.
