Tree Plantation Drive
Instead of being the culprits of the world of tomorrow by adding to the cruelty inflicted on nature, let us be remembered and loved for planting trees. Without a doubt, cruelty to nature is cruelty towards the next generation who will bear the brunt of the effects. To make a positive difference and bring attention to this matter, a Tree Plantation Drive was organized by the Earth Watch Club (EWC) in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKFP). As part of this drive 20 Citrus Trees were planted In D-Ground by the guests and representatives from Alkhidmat, faculty and students of Department of Environmental Sciences, our advisor and council members, and the volunteers at the event. The Vice-President of Alkhidmat (Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat) and Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Sciences were both highly appreciative of the efforts of everyone involved in holding this event and proud of the motivation behind this initiative.
A clean-up drive was also held around the E-Block building in which volunteers as well as council members rigorously scanned and removed trash from the grounds with the help of gloves and garbage bags. Interviews were also held with students in E-Block regarding the importance of clean-up drives, which also helped our society’s mission to generate awareness of the benefits of a healthy environment.
