The Great Debate Competition
The British High Commission Pakistan launched its event The Great Debate nationwide in the month of September. The idea behind the competition was to select best debaters from across Pakistan from over a hundred universities. The winners from each of the 12 predefined cities competed against each other in the grand finale held in Islamabad.
Students belonging to various universities in Lahore actively took part in this competition. The Formanites Debating Society (FDS) arranged for the Lahore round to be hosted by FCC on Monday 12 October 2015. The competition was a brilliant showcase of the talent reserved in our youth. The topics of the competition were inspired from the theme: Pakistan 2047 and the debaters reflected upon the views that can lead to a better future for Pakistan.
The President of Formanites Debating society, Aneeq A Sarwar Khan, judged the competition among other well renowned names in the circuit. The British High Commissioner, Philip Barton CMG OBE, also attended the event.
