SBS holds first session of Bio لوگ‎

On 13 March 2015, the Senior Biology Society (SBS) held the first session of Bio لوگ‎ a first-of-its-kind series of sessions about the stories of the people from the Department of Biological Sciences, where the audience got a chance to know about the real life stories of their teachers.

Considering the recently celebrated Women’s Day, Team SBS invited Dr Samina Mehnaz who is a role model for all the women in science to be our very first story-teller. Dr. Mehnaz has an impressive profile which stands unparalleled. She obtained her doctorate in Molecular Microbial Ecology from QAU Islamabad and NIBGE Faisalabad. She has worked in Germany, Canada, Vienna, USA and has over 36 international publications. She has recently taken up the role of the Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences at FCC.

Dr Samina talked about her childhood pranks, societal pressures, student life and professional career. Her talk proved to the audience that no accomplishment, however great, is beyond your reach. Faculty and students thoroughly enjoyed the trip down the memory lane as she shared the pictures that spoke a thousand words. Her witty answers to the questions in the special Rapid Fire round were the highlight of the session. The concept and the execution of the event were highly appreciated by student body and faculty alike. The event came to a close with a group photo of the Biological Sciences faculty with Team SBS.

Stay tuned as Team SBS will be back with another session of Bio لوگ! very soon.
