RCYG’s visit to Fatimid Foundation

Forty students visited Fatimid Foundation on 24 March 2012. The visit was organized by Red Crescent Youth Group (RCYG) in collaboration with Fatimid Foundation. The students were welcomed by Lt Col (R) Anwar Iqbal, Administrator Fatimid Foundation Lahore. He briefed the students on the history of Fatimid Foundation and how it continues to function successfully. He also spoke about Thalassemia and Hemophilia diseases. The students were then shown around the facilty.

Fatimid Foundation provides blood to more than 600 patients of Thalassemia and Hemophilia per month and the blood is arranged by conducting blood camps in different institutes. Students interacted with the patients who came there for blood transfusion. Some patients said that they were coming to Fatimid since the last 10 years after every 15 days to receive blood and Fatimid provided good facilities without charging any money. The President RCYG, on behalf of FCC, thanked the foundation towards the end and ensured that Forman Christian College would always help these patients in providing for blood or any other support.
