LES and FSS hold workshop on SPSS

The Lucas Economics Society and the Forman Statistics Society arranged a two-day workshop for SPSS on 11 and 13 March 2013.  Anwar Mughal, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics conducted the workshop.

The workshop consisted of two sessions i.e. the Beginners and Advance levels. Students learned about variables and their types; creating data datasheet; introduction to basic graphical charts; data entry in SPSS and descriptive analysis in the first session.

They also learned testing reliability of study instrument; framework of study; descriptive statistics of data; regression analysis; cross-tabulation and Chi-square techniques; correlation analysis and ANOVA table in the second session.

The workshop equipped the participants with basic knowledge of SPSS making it convenient for them to apply the techniques in their researches. Around 85 people, including students and faculty members, registered for the workshop.
