IAS in collaboration with Akhuwat Arranges Clothing Drive

International Affairs Society in collaboration with the nonprofit organization, Akhuwat, arranged for a Clothing Drive on FCCU campus. It took place from Monday 16th December, 2019 to Wednesday 18th December, 2019.

The aim of this drive was to contribute as much as we could to the United Nation’s first Sustainable Development Goal, that is NO POVERTY, and this is how we’ve started. In this clothes drive we collected old clothes that were not in anyone’s use and then distribute them to families that can’t afford to buy new ones.

International Affairs Society collected the clothes from everyone on campus and delivered them to Akhuwat Clothes Bank where they will be refurbished (if needed) and then packed again and send to the neediest.

We believe in ‘enhancing global citizenship’ of which one of the most important value is empathy and sharing. This drive not only brought about the empathy in students but also taught them that sharing with the ones in need is a value everyone should possess.
