FORMUN XII, the 12th edition of Forman Christian College University’s Model United Nations

FORMUN XII, the 12th edition of Forman Christian College University’s Model United Nations, continued its legacy of excellence in extracurricular activities and skill development. With a theme of “Bridging Cultures,” the event brought together over 378 delegates from institutions across Pakistan, including Kinnaird College, CMH, Roots, LCWU, UVAS, UMT, Kavish, LGS TS, LGS Gulberg, Saint Anthony’s, UCP, ICLS, Quaid-e-Azam University, and more.

The four-day event featured six committees, including UNHRC, CRISIS WW2, UN Women, DISEC, PNA, and UNSC, providing a platform for diplomatic dialogues on global issues. Some of the notable sponsors who played a crucial role in supporting FORMUN XII included Euro Oil, Master Paints, Bunjoja, Wycked Creatives, Alif Theatre, Waseem Jewellers, Papa Johns, Adore, Rose Palace and Premier.

FORMUN XII unfolded its multifaceted charm over four exhilarating days, showcasing the diversity of talent and intellectual prowess. Day 1 featured a Social Responsibility Program, where the event extended its reach beyond the conference rooms. Hosting children from the Ruhil Foundation, the program emphasized the event’s commitment to social impact and community engagement. At the end of Day 1, there was a performance from our proud sponsor Alif Theatre on the theme of the conference.

Day 2 featured a guest speaker session featuring Muneeb Nawaz, Amrat Ahmad,Abdul Wasay and Salman Haider who added an  intellectual layer to the day’s festivities, providing a unique blend of entertainment and insightful discussions. Day 2 also witnessed the electrifying Formun Ultra, a DJ night that transformed the atmosphere into a celebration of unity and friendship. This lively event allowed delegates to unwind and connect in a more informal setting.

The cultural extravaganza continued on Day 3 with Shab e Zauq, an enchanting Qawali night that resonated with the rich heritage of artistic expression. This event not only entertained but also enriched the participants’ cultural experiences, fostering a deeper appreciation for diversity.

Amidst the vibrant social calendar, FORMUN XII’s heartbeat resonated within the six committees, where delegates engaged in diplomatic dialogues, tackled global issues, and finely honed their negotiation skills. In the spirit of unity, delegates passionately debated strategies to bridge cultures and foster a collective commitment to making the world a safer place. Their discussions contributed to a better understanding of challenges faced by the interconnected faces of the world and how to make the world a more tolerant and all-inclusive space for all.

Throughout the event, delegates actively participated in diplomatic dialogues in eight committee sessions, addressing global issues. As the event reached its zenith with the intense master round and the grand closing ceremony on day 4, FORMUN XII etched its place as a memorable chapter in the legacy of Forman Christian College University’s Model United Nations. Best Delegation was awarded to Government College University, with LGS Gulberg as the Runner-up.

The host team of FORMUN XII, through their collective effort and unwavering dedication, organized an event that was nothing short of extraordinary. Their extraordinary skills and expertise were the heartbeat of this gathering, which shaped it into an unforgettable experience. All in all, FORMUN XII stood as a beacon of excellence that will be remembered for tenures to come.
