Folio Open Art Competition and Exhibition 2011
Folio (English) FCC organized an open art competition and exhibition on 20 and 21 April 2011 in S-008. Over a hundred students participated in the categories Competition, Exhibition and Photography. The theme for the competition was open art, so students had the opportunity to use their creativity and bring the best out of their imagination.
At the end of the first day, the room was filled with numerous pieces of artwork made by the students. These pieces were put on exhibition on the second day. Formanites and faculty members from all departments including Dr C J Dubash (Executive Vice Rector FCC), Dr Wasem Anwer (Dean of Humanities FCC) and Prof Ayesha Ateeq (Professor Psychology Department FCC) praised the effort and skill of the students and voted for the artwork they liked in every category.
The results were finalized and declared on 9 May 2011 in a prize distribution ceremony. Dr Kamal Ud Din (Chief Advisor of Folio FCC) and Assistant Prof Waqar Azeem (Advisor Folio FCC) distributed prizes among the winning participants.
Maryam Azhar stood first in the Photography category while Haseeb Muhammad and Basit Zafar secured second and third positions respectively. In the Competition category Sonam Emmanual was awarded the first prize. Waqas Nasir Butt and Umer Mateen Khan got second and third positions respectively. Ubaid Ur Rehman won the third category of Exhibition. Juvaria Tariq came second and Muhammad Muqaddas came third.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Dr Kamal Ud Din and Prof Waqar Azeem addressed the participants, appreciated the effort made by the organizing team and encouraged everyone to take part in such activities.
The success of the event is credited to the hard work of the Folio team especially Asma, Sana, Saba and Salma for event management and Arman Ahmed for the brilliant theme designing.
