FJS holds lecture by Abdul Qayyum Hijazi
The Forman Journalist Society (FJS) along with the Department of Mass Communication conducted an interactive lecture with the guest speaker Abdul Qayyum Hijazi. He is a veteran in the field of advertising, who after his graduation from NCA joined PAF and established Hawk Advertising for Shaheen Foundation. He is a painter, calligrapher and has also been studio designer in PTV back in 1969. He is nephew of historical novelist Nasim Hijazi.
The topic of his lecture was “Institutional Advertising”. He first explained advertising and its importance for institutes and its difference from marketing and public relations. He showed students best ads and discussed the importance of sight and sound. Though he emphasized more on visuals and advised students to go for indirect messages in ads rather than direct messages.
Head of Mass Communication Department, Dr Mian Ahmad Hanan expressed his gratitude to Abdul Qayyum Hijazi for talking the time out to talk to the students.
