FDC performs at Youth Performing Arts Festival 2014
The FCC Dramatics Club participated in 13th Youth Performing Arts Festival 2014 held at Alhamra Cultural Complex from 16to 19 October 2014. Participants from different schools, colleges and universities participated in the festival which incorporated categories such as .music, dance, drama and film.
FCC contested in the drama and film categories. The Club prepared a play ‘Kabtak!’ for this festival. It was directed and written by Naveed Mehdi while the team members were Mohammad Naveed Shiekh, Safi-ur-rehman, Sultanat Manan, Ahmad Butt, Daniyal Azhar, Furqan Ghani, Zain Tahir and Shoaib Saqib. President of FDC Sunny Javed and Vice president Salman James also accompanied the performing team. The play was about the rights of minorities and was well received among the audience. It was also nominated for the Best Drama Award.
In film category short movie ‘Button Man’ was sent from FCC. Saud Javed Malik, Syed Fazil Hasan Kirmani and Daud Khan, students of FCC, were the actors and part of the production team as well. Usama Hammad directed the film. ‘Button Man’ won the award for Best Short Film and at the Rafi Peer Performing Art Festival as well as the award for Best Film in FiLUMS 2014 (LUMS International Film Festival) earlier this year.
