FCC’s Naseem Gulzar wins photography award

Naseem Gulzar, student of Mass Communication in FC College, won the first position for his outstanding photographs displayed at the 6th All Pakistan Environmental Poster, Painting, Sketching and Photography Exhibition organised by the Environment and Horticulture Society, UET. The Exhibition was held from 8 to 10 March 2011.

Photographers from all over Pakistan submitted their work. The total number of photographs submitted were 550 from which 40 were selected and displayed in the exhibition. Out of the five pictures Naseem handed in, all based on the theme of poverty and squalor, the best two were displayed at the exhibition. The pictures displayed the squalid conditions nomads live in and a child of schoolgoing age scavenging near a corporation skip.

The exhibition was inaugurated by UET Vice Chancellor Dr Zubair. The chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony, held on 10 March, was Dr Abdul Sattar Shakir, Dean of Civil Department UET.
