CLP raises funds for flood affected people

The Christian Life Program organized a comedy show by Iftikhar Thakkur, in collaboration with Caritas Pakistan on 23 October 2014. The program was aimed at fundraising for the people affected by the latest floods, as a part of the national effort to deliver food items to the flood affected areas.

Former President of Christian Life Program, Tauseef Iftikhar, a fundraiser himself, hosted the show. Mr Thakkur was welcomed with a standing ovation by more than a thousand students present in the Sinclair Hall. Seconds later, the hall was echoing by his famous tagline ‘Jhoot Marda’, meaning, one is lying.
Mr Thakkur started off the event by a small humor-filled analysis of the current political scenario of Pakistan. Moving further, he convinced the students about the significance of relief efforts and fundraising in the rehabilitation of the flood victims of the nation. Mr Thakkur was of the view that all the flood victims are our responsibility. Donations boxes were then circulated in the hall for collection.  A total of Rs 12,681 was collected, which was a great achievement, Mr Thakkur added.
The program was concluded by presenting shields to Mr Thakkur,  Mr Kashif Sharoon, Director Student Activities and Qindeel Rabbani, President CLP for the successful program. The program was appreciated by everyone present.
