Benade Physics Society Lecture on Promise of Nuclear Energy
On 10 January 2011, the Benade Physics Society arranged a lecture on “The Promise of Nuclear Energy” in S-009. The lecture was delivered by Dr Khalil Qureshi, HI, SI, ex-DG of PINSTECH and currently Director LUMS School of Science and Engineering.
Dr Qureshi spoke about how nuclear technology was being used currently, different ways of disposing nuclear waste, and what is being done to improve nuclear technology in Pakistan. At the end there was question and answer session between the speaker and students. In closing, Dr Sufian Aslam, Chairperson Physics Department, presented a bouquet and FCC souvenir to Dr Qureshi.
