YEP organizes lecture on Confidence Building
Young Entrepreneurial Platform organized a lecture on ‘Confidence Building to Speak in English’ on 27 October’17. The session was held between 9:00 am to 10:30 am in E-025. The guest speakers for the event were Col Adam Lawrence Barbruich who serves as a visiting lecturer at the center for language studies in Sri-Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA). The other guest speaker was Dr Asthana U Attanayake Barborich- a consultant at English language curriculum design.
The Sri-Lankan couple talked about public speaking in English language. Moreover, they casted a light on the techniques used to overcome the fear of public speaking. For this purpose, they showed some statistics of different universities. They gave their own opinion over what they think about public speaking and how they see people being afraid of this skill. They made use of productive presentation slides to express their word to the FCCU students.
The audience warmly welcomed the guests and listened devotedly to the lecture. The YEP council appreciated the effort to come over and providing confidence to the students with their inspiring speech.
