SCS organizes an Event on Green Chemistry

Speers Chemical Society in collaboration with department of Environmental Sciences organized an event on Green Chemistry on 05 Dec 2017. The event took place in S-009. Following activities were the part of this event:

  • Poster/Painting competition
  • Discussions on “Importance of Green Chemistry” by faculty members from Department of Chemistry and Department of Environmental Sciences.
  • Rapid Fire Round
  • Model Competition
  • An interesting talk by Associate Professor, Dr Derk Bakker from Department of Environmental Sciences, Forman Christian College Lahore, on ‘What do Hulk, plants, soils and cricket have in common?’

The posters and painting were displayed in S-octa and evaluated by faculty members of Department of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences, which fascinated the students of different fields.

Furthermore, there was a delightful singing performance by students from Department of Chemistry and Biological Sciences along with the President of Forman Music Society for the sake of entertainment. At the end of the event there was an award ceremony in which Dean of Natural Sciences, Dr Dildar Ahmed Alavi and Chairperson of Environmental Sciences, Dr Ishtiaq Qazi distributed the certificates and shields among the faculty members who participated in the event, team SCS and also among the volunteers.

Speers Chemical Society and Department of Chemistry are very grateful to those faculty members who were the part of this event and students who worked as volunteers to organize this event and also to those students who participated in the above activity to make this event successful.
