SBS holds BioEthika: A Three-day Asian Parliamentary Debating Championship

The Senior Biology Society held a three day Asian parliamentary debate event called BioEthika in which important bioethical issues were discussed and many teams participated in this. The first day started off with a panel discussion on The Future of Genetics: The Regulation Debate. It was attended by many notable personalities including Director CEMB, Dr Tayyab Husnain and Professor and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dr Kauser Abdulla Malik and a renowned doctor from SIMS. The second day had many rounds of debates and at the end of the evening the participants were treated to a musical night arranged by the society. The third day we had the final round which was held in S- 009 and was attended by a large audience as the final debate was very interesting with both the teams AMC and KEMU giving their best. It was a very close call for the adjudicators but ultimately KEMU won the competition. The event ended seamlessly with a formal dinner organized by the society. The entire event was also covered by a newspaper reporter from DAWN.
