Rotaract Club & JBS visit Neelam Jhelum Project

The Intermediate students of the Rotaract Club visited the ‘Neelam Jhelum Project’ on 14th October, 2012 in the Neelam Valley as a part of their visit to Azad Kashmir. This visit was organized in collaboration with the Junior Biological Society.

Rtr Asadullah Hunain, the president of the FCC Rotaract Club, Ahmed Fraz the president of JBS and other members of the Rotaract Club also took part in the tour. The power project is being constructed to cope with the shortage of energy in the country.

During the indoor session, Mian Zubair Resident Engineer construction, Jahanzaib Khan Resident Engineer project and Fiaz Hanif Sindhu from the Geology department of the project, gave a presentation on the historical perspective of the project as well as its design.

This process emphasizes on the main dam across theNeelamRiver, the diversion in tunnels and other technicalities. The dam will be 50 meters high and will produce 970 MW of electricity.

The Rotaract Club extended its thanks to Ch Ghulam Qadir for research and design and his son Rtr Ch Omar Qadir for organizing the activity.
