Prof Jamal Malik talks about dialogue between Islam and the West
Griswold History society organized a talk by Prof Jamal Malik, Chairperson Religious Studies in the University of Erfurt, Germany on the trajectories of dialogue between Islam and the West. He emphasized that there is a grave need for understanding both Muslims and Western societies in the context of growing extremism.
While presenting the structure and working of Erfurt University, Prof Malik maintained that the University of Erfurt has already felt this need and has been engaged in efforts to promote dialogue between Muslim and Western educational institutions. He told the audience that one such project, in which Erfurt University was engaged with the students of Pakistan’s universities is about to end and the other is about to start in which, hopefully, the students of FCC will also participate.
