Lucas Economic Society holds Peace Walk

The blast in the Peshawar church killed 83 people and left a 100 injured last Sunday. People are still mourning. In order to condemn the senseless act of violence, the Lucas Economic Society arranged a peace walk on 26 September 2013.

The walk intended to raise a voice against injustice. Teachers and students participated in the walk by tieing white ribbons around their wrists and holding placards. The walk started from Ahmed Saeed Building to Sinclair Hall where candles were lit in the memory of the victims.

LES president, Hashim Raja, welcomed the participants and then invited Dr Mudassar Abbas, Chief Proctor Prof Nawaz and Mr Syed Ali Abbas, to share their views regarding the incident. In the end Dr Roger Martin prayed for the deceased people. He said he hoped that such incidents did not happen in the future and that people remained safe and secure.
