LES visits old people’s home
On 15 of this Ramadan, members of the Lucas Economic Society (LES), went to an old home. The main motive behind society’s visit was to inculcate a sense of community work among people and to spend some time with the old people.
A group of around 7 students along with a teacher went to visit the aged people. As we entered the house, the residents were very hospitable and friendly. They shared their life experiences with the students and expressed how much they missed their families and their children. The people there had either been abandoned by their children or had left their families-fed up with the humiliation and ill-treatment.
The students brought food and presents for the residents. The experience not only made the students realize the importance of old people but also gave them the initiative to participate in welfare work.
