IAS celebrates International Education Week

International Affairs Society (IAS) at Forman Christian College celebrated International Education Week from 18 November to 23 November 2011 with a series of information sessions on educational opportunities. The events included an information session on Scholarships in Germany by Annemarie Schimmel Haus and Daad Foundation; a presentation on Diversity by US Consulate; and a seminar on IELTS and Mentoring by British Council. All turned out to be a success.

The last of the sessions took place on 23 November, in which representatives of the British Council came to educate and inspire Formanites with an emphasis on career counseling and experiences overseas. Opening Doors, Creating Opportunities was the core theme. A short video on the importance of IELTS was showed followed by a question and answer panel session. Renowned speakers encouraged the audience. Speakers included Sidra Iqbal (Anchor Person, Motivational Speaker), Ayesha Alam (Artist), Amir Zahoor (Engineer), Qaiser Abbas (Trainer, Motivational Speaker) and Aqsa Bashir (Fulbright Scholar, FC College).

More than 200 students attended the session. They proactively participated in the talk by sharing their dreams and concerns with the panelists and the audience.  The event concluded with what the International Affairs Society believes to be a transformation in mind set. The audience left the hall with a new vision, dream and hope inside them.
