FORMUN wins Best Delegation at RYMUN ISLAMABAD

The long weekend was an iconic one for the FCC MUN Society and they returned victorious from fierce competition and highbrow diplomacy at RYMUN ‘12, polishing the hands of time.

Two delegations from FCC stayed at Islamabadfrom 8th to 11th November, to attend RYMUN ’12 (Roots Youth International Model United Nations). RYMUN ‘12 was held at Roots School System,Islamabad with 30 delegations from across the country to set the arena for battle. The event was exemplary in its own right as Gordon Brown, along with 17 real in-service ambassadors joined the event, the chief guest being Kashmala Tariq and the guest of honor being His Excellency High Commissioner ofMauritius. The ambassadors also demonstrated a mock session of the General Assembly which was a precious, once-in-a-lifetime experience for the students.

Despite the pressure, our delegations from FCC, representing Russia  and Iran, stole the limelight by winning a cumulative of 10 awards: Hafeez-ur-Rehman Hadi (Best Delegate) in PNA, Usama Nasim (Best Delegate) in UNSC, Waqar Karim (Honorable Mention) in CTC, Danish Waris (Honorable Mention) in CTC, Affaf Ahmad Sheikh (Honorable Mention) in UNHRC, Rizwan Anwer (Honorable Mention) in UNHRC , Hilal Ziauddin (Honorable Mention) in CSW, Rai  Farhanullah (Honorable Mention) in SPECPOL, Hafeez Mahsud (Honorable Mention) in UNSC and Faraz Fareed (Special Mention) in PNA. Other delegates who participated included Arslan Tariq(SM), Aftab Azeem, Muahid Mansoor, Qasim Haider, Syed Wajeeh Abbas, Habeeb Ur Rehman, Ahmad Elahi, Muazzam Manj and Ahmad Hussain Mazari. The cherry on top was the declaration of FCC as having the Best Delegation—something that sent the delegates from FCC roaring in excitement.

While juggling with diplomacy and dialogue, our fellow society members took time off to engage themselves in fun-filled, energetic social events such as the RDB concert, the Diplomatic Dinner and of course, the rapturous House Party which tested their stamina to rejoice and relax.

All in all, the event was a phenomenal success for FCC MUN                      Society and it is glad that the training and support given to its members has paid off, exceeding expectations and mastering lifelong skills.
