FJS organizes workshop on Creative and Critical thinking for freshmen

Forman Journalism Society conducted a workshop for freshmen focusing on enhancing their creative and critical skills. Importance of creativity was highlighted and various activities were conducted to inculcate team spirit and analytical thinking in students. The workshop was conducted for an entire week. It started with an ice-breaking session, a game Pango was especially designed for this purpose. Students get to know each other through the game which made the class environment friendly and comfortable.

The core essence of the phenomenon of ‘creativity’ was made clear to the students and they were encouraged to think creatively and effectively by an exercise of creating a short story from a picture. This enabled students to think creatively about new ideas and present them in an effective way.

To enhance the creativity, students were divided into two teams to play tagging the picture game. This allowed students to quickly and critically evaluate their memory. This game was aimed to make students aware of their own community and its work. A session on Public Service Messages was organized in which different video messages were shown and students were asked to create their own messages. In the end, students were guided to cope up with the university life and a discussion on gender perception was done. It was a great learning experience for the students.
