FES takes Trip to Kartarpur in Freshmen Week

As part of the activities of the Freshman Week, a trip to Kartarpur was organized on 08 February 2020. A large number of students gathered in front of the Business and Social Sciences Building to start their journey to kartarpur. Some of the staff members also joined the group as a chaperone , these included; Qindeel Rubani (Manager Student Activities), Maida Ali (Lecturer), Mr. Naeem Gulzar (Manager RLO), Mr. Arif Silas (Lecturer) and Mr. Rizwan Dawood (Lecturer). All the students were ushered to their assigned busses and the memorable journey started. The fun began with all the in-bus activities that the participants of the trip indulged in. The main purpose of choosing this religious place was to educate students about the recently established Kartarpur corridor and its historic and political significance and to cast a gesture of harmony and peace among different religions in Pakistan. Located on the right bank of the Ravi River, Kartarpur is said to have been founded by the first guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, where he established the first Sikh commune. It was an incredible opportunity for the freshmen to settle in FCCU and feel the warm welcome given to them by FES. The 147 students were divided into four groups, each containing a chaperone along with one official guide from the Walled City Lahore Authority for each group. FES team was also divided and assigned duties accordingly. The tour was followed by refreshments provided in the middle of the day and a mini trip to the Lahore food street to mark it by a memorable ending.
