FDS holds mock parliamentary sessions

Forman Debating Society recently hosted a mock parliamentary session for both English and Urdu.  These sessions, held in Pervaiz Elahi Building FCC, included friendly matches from different universities like Government College, FAST, PU and LUMS.

On 19 August 2013 , the English Mock debates were held with Sidra Bashir and Muhammad Adeel in Opening Government, while Ahmad Chaudhry and Sherdil (GCU) represented the Opening Opposition. For Closing Government, we had Ahsan Ali and Muhammad Omer Imran while Hassan Rizvi (GCU) and Hafiz Usman (LUMS) were the Closing Opposition.

The topic for the debate was ‘This house would have serious punishments for public office holders for civil charges’; with Mehreen Kasana, Shareh Qazi, Moazzam Khan Lodhi, Hafeez ur Rehman Hadi and Shahbaz Ahmad as the judges.

 

The Urdu Mock debate was held on 26 July 2013. In this, the opening government was represented by Zahid Ali andRaza Gillani (GC) while opening opposition had Uzair khan (FCC) and Ammar Bukhari (FAST). On the other hand for closing Government we had Ahsan Ali and Hafeez Ur Rehman Hadi (FCC)   while closing opposition was represented by Waqar (FCC) and Moazzam Khan Lodhi (PU).

For the Urdu debate the topic given was: ‘Yeh aiewan tehreek-e-taliban
Pakistan se muzakaraat ki hamayat karta hai’ with Raza Hassan and M Omer Imran as the presiding judge.
