FDS at UMT Debating Championship
The University of Management and Technology, Lahore (UMT) under the banner of “Moderate Inter University Debating Competition in observance of International Youth Day” hosted a debating competition. This event, held on 13 September 2013 introduced a new and different debating format referred to as ‘presentation style debating competition’, which took place under the observance of ITA (Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi).
For this exceptional event only a limited number of 5 universities were sent invitations, namely those who have a well known image in the debating circuit. A team comprising of Muhammad Omer Imran, Ahsan Ali and Hafeez ur Rehman Hadi were sent to represent Forman Christian College in this event.
In this style of debating, each team had to make a slide presentation at the end of which they would be questioned by a panel of judges. The top three winners were then given cash prize alongside with their trophies.
Team from FCCU performed extremely well and was runners up in the competition, earning a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with the Runners up trophy.
