FCC students among finalists at 2nd FAST Debating Championship 2013

The Debating Society at FAST-NU, VOICE, set forth to host its 2nd Debating Championship from 7 to 11 February 2013.

Under the banner of FDC, they hosted declamations as well as British-style Parliamentary debates.  Around 30 teams from different parts ofPakistanparticipated in the event, out of which 7 universities came from Balochistan.
For the Declamation competition, FCC had Usama Tarar in the Urdu category while Ammaz Shabbir spoke in the English Category. They spoke extra-ordinarily well and the Forman Christian College team qualified for final round. Usama Tarar garnered 3rd position in the Urdu category. Overall the FCC team stood 3rd in the All Pakistan Declamation Contest 2013.

Representing Forman Christian Society at FDC were Muhammad Omer Imran and Muhammad Adeel as the English Team for the Parliamentary debates. They were remarkable in their debates and reached the Final round in which they faced off with LSE. Though they lost out in the Finals round, it can be easily seen, that the Forman Debating Society has grown in leaps and bounds since the society’s inception at FCC. The society has made a name for itself in the Pakistani debating circuit as a worthy competitor and a team to look out for in every competition.
