FCC student comes 3rd in Intervarsity Photography Competition

Hafiz Mubashar Ahmed, a junior in Mass Communication at FCC and General Secretary of the FCC Photographic Society, won third prize in the Inter-University Photography Competition conducted by Young Journalists’ Society of Government College University.

The competition was held on 27 January 2011 at GCU. Dr Khalid Pervaiz, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at GCU, was the chief guest. The judges were Mr Tahir Malik Yazdani, President of Lahore Heritage Club, and Mr Muhammad Adnan, Member of Photographic Society of America, Owner of Islamabad Camera Club, and Administrator of Pak Photographic Society.

A total number of 40 candidates took part in the competition from 13 universities of  Lahore. The participating universities included LUMS, NCA, UMT, Superior University, Lahore College for Women University, University of Central Punjab, Institute of Arts and Design (PU) and Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women University. The Institute of Arts and Design and UCP managed to get the first and second positions respectively. Another student from UCP shared third place with Hafiz Mubashar.
