EES holds a talk on Our Lady of Alice Bhatti and other Loves

Ewing English Society organized a talk on Our Lady of Alice Bhatti and Other Loves on Friday 11th March 2016. It was a moderated session comprising of Mohammad Hanif, the author of A Case of Exploding Mangoes, and Our Lady of Alice Bhatti, and Dr Saeed-ur-Rehman, one of FCC’s most brilliant teachers. The panelists kept a witty banter going throughout the session, leaving the audience in stitches. Mohammad Hanif talked about Alice Bhatti as a woman from the much less recognized community of Pakistan, and how she summed up the poignancy and hilarity of the human experience so effectively. His sharp wit, dark humor, and complete disregard of academic decorum were a refreshing change for those of us tired of stuffy talks held in disapproving conference rooms. The Q/A session with the audience was very interactive and thought provoking as the intellectual crowd posed some tough questions. And since Mohammad Hanif is an alumnus of Forman Christian College, it was a great pleasure welcoming him back to the place where, according to him, he spent some of his most wonderful years.
