BPS Celebrates The Legacy of Dr Abdus Salam

The Benade Physics Society organized an amazingly engaging event celebrating the legacy of one of the greatest contributors to Science and a great Pakistani. Dr. Abdus Salam was the first Nobel Laureate of Pakistan, winning the Nobel Prize in Physics. His contribution to Physics is humongous.

To shed light on his life, Dr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy took the stage and talked about the great character, determination and genius of Salam. He talked at length about the personality of the man and his great love for his country and science. Dr. Hoodbhoy captured the imagination of the students in attendance and provided great insights.

The event was well attended by students from all departments and members of faculties were present as well. The capacity attendance was a testament to the success of the event and the absolute importance of paying homage to our forgotten heroes. The success of the event is owed to the efforts of the Department of Physics, BPS, our worthy advisor and Head of Department as well as the charismatic vigor of our speaker.
