Bazm-e-Fikr-o-Nazar arranges trip to Lahore’s historical places

Bazm-e-Fikr-o-Nazar arranged a trip to the historical places of Lahore on Saturday 16 March 2013. The students flocked before the Sinclair Hall at 9:30 am. They were enjoined by the adviser of the society. The Lahore Zoo was the first place to be visited. Everyone enjoyed the natural and pleasant scenery of the zoo early in the morning.

The students then visited the Lahore Museum. The director of the museum arranged for a special guide for the students who told about the historical events related to the museum’s collections. The third place the students visited was the Baadshahi Mosque. Most of the students offered a requiem there at the shrine of the national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The students were served with biryani for the lunch in the grassy plot beside Iqbal’s shrine. Then everyone went to visit the Baadshahi mosque after having a group photo on the stairs of mosque. Next was the Lahore Fort. The students keenly observed and admired the aesthetics of Mughal architecture. The sun was lingering on the horizon to sink when we were leaving the Lahore Fort.

The students also planned to visit the Baaradari of Kamran but were unable to do so due to the dark. The group then visited the Food Street where the students formed two groups. One for visiting the Food Street and the other for Minar-e-Pakistan. The students enjoyed rides at Minar-e-Pakistan and then came back to the Food Street where the rest of the group was waiting for them. In the bus, the students played antakshari and some of them shared beautiful poetic verses. The bus returned to FCC at 9:00 pm. More than 50 students were a part of this memorable trip.
