APS organizes workshop on Taking Care of Yourself and Your Community

On Friday, 26th October 2018, APS organized a workshop on ‘Taking Care of Yourself and Your Community’, which was led by Dr Patricia Omidian, who is a Medical Anthropologist. The workshop started with a discussion on the recent cultural shift and the differences in group conformity/individuality and hiding emotions/showing emotions across gender. Then as part of the workshop, people were divided into groups to work on the definition of community and wellness as well as construct a poem on the subject. Resilience and ways of coping were also part of the discussion of the workshop and how community can promote resilience. It was an informative workshop, which promoted team work as well as shed light on the importance of community and self-care.
