APS organizes Mental Health Awareness Seminar
On Friday, 19 October 2018, Armacost Psychological Society organized a Mental Health Awareness Seminar themed “Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World”, in spirit of Mental Health Awareness Week. The seminar explored various mental health issues related to youth, with Dr Mujeeba Ashraf starting off the seminar with a discussion on body image issues in youth. This was followed by an insightful discussion by Ms Faiqa Hafeez regarding parent/child conflict and her experiences in the Child Protection Bureau. To bring the discussion to a close, Dr Shahid Rasheed talked about drug addiction in youth. A heartfelt poem was also recited by the APS Secretary, Samia Raveem Butt, showcasing a message of love and kindness. The question and answer session at the end also gave the students an opportunity to address concerns regarding mental health. Overall, it was an enlightening experience for all.
