APS holds talk on Obesity – Facts and Fiction

 

On Tuesday, 14 April 2015, the Armacost Psychological Society arranged a highly informative lecture on ‘Obesity – Facts and Fiction’ which was conducted by Dr Hassan Farooq from the Board of Internal Medicine, USA. Keeping in view, the increase in the prevalence of this problem in the society, it was considered to be of utmost importance to shed light on the topic, in order to provide awareness and guidance to the audience, regarding the many healthy changes they can bring about in their lives.

Dr Hassan provided a comprehensive insight to the topic stating the facts and clearing up the widely held myths regarding it. The talk was followed by an active question and answers session in which the audience, consisting of both students and faculty members participated enthusiastically and discussed questions that they had regarding the topic, their eating habits and health in general. The talk was highly interactive, enlightening and much-needed bearing in mind the health issues that seem to be prevailing currently.
