BPS holds Astronomy Week

Benade Physics Society organized Astronomy Week from Tuesday 17 November 2015 to Friday 20 November 2015. The whole week had events with fun filled activities to boost the interest of students in Astrophysics.

Day 1: The week started with screening of a documentary of the world famous Carl Segan talking about Cosmos- an interstellar journey.

Day 2: A large number of people participated to put their talent at work, with twinkling eyes reflecting the fire-some passion they had for art. Participants drew and painted art from all parts of life- space and astronomy, abstract and still life. The winners got the prize and all other got certificates for participation.

Day 3: A scavenger hunt was organized on the third day of the Astronomy Week. Five success-driven teams hyped with excitement hunted BPS members at their stations to solve clues; highly enjoying the run. Physics can certainly be fun when you’re answering questions for a game. The winning team got the prize.

Day 4: A Star gazing and Musical Night was organized on the fourth and the last day day of the astronomy week. BPS threw in cultural, poetic music with jazz, pop and 21st century hits to make an incredible night of music on the cafeteria roof top.
