EWC Organizes Campaign for Plastic Free Campus

The Earth Watch Club took a giant leap for a clean, green and plastic-free campus on 15 November 2019, the society had the privilege of spearheading the campaign to ban plastic bags from campus. To kick start the important campaign the society organized various events on the day where alternate cloth and paper bags were distributed among faculty, administration and students. The response to the camping was great, to say the least.

The campaign started with the distribution of bags among the administration. After that, it moved to E-block and finally the Cafe to get the maximum attraction. The stall consisted of council members who distributed badges with green slogans and also provided awareness to students and answered their questions. A large number of students took an active part in the campaign wearing badges and acquiring alternate packaging for themselves. The day marked a big, milestone for society as well as our beautiful campus with plastic bags going out of circulation. A plastic-free campus seems quite in reach now.

The campaign was very encouraging for EWC and our vision to highlight the environmental issues that plague us in this day and age.
